Ed was an important part of our chapter and was instrumental in creating the successful chapter we now have today. He selflessly donated many hours of his time to several different programs and events that the chapter sponsored, including the annual golf outing.
The highest Award of Valor that Chapter XIII bestows is named after Ed and was recently given to a number of police officers from northern Bergen County who rescued a man from a burning vehicle. This award is called the "Edward A. Fredericks Award of Valor". Ed's son presented it to the officer's at the Chapter Law Enforcement Luncheon on November 13th. Ed will be remembered every year when this award is given to deserving law enforcement officers who perform an act of heroism and exemplifies Ed's high level of integrity and strength of character that everyone will remember him by.
He was a friend and mentor to all of the security and law enforcement professionals and we will miss him.
The Executive Board of ASIS Chapter XIII and all our members extend our deepest condolences to the Fredericks' family. |
